Torah Bowl Championships

The Torah Bowl Tri State Area Championships were played in Brooklyn on Monday. For the    second time in as many years, the YCQ Boys Torah Bowl team advanced to the Championship Round of the Torah Bowl playoffs. After securing a double bye for finishing the regular season a perfect 12-0, they advanced to the finals where they   battled in a tough best of three series with Ramaz to claim their place in history as Southern Division Champions. Although the boys were Southern Division Champions, they could not get past the powerhouse YNJ (Yeshiva of North  Jersey) in the Tri State Area Torah Bowl Championships. The boys were asked one hundred    questions on the entire Sefer Shemot with Rashi. However, they simply could not keep up with the “fast paced offense” run by YNJ. The girls team also had an incredible season finishing up the    regular season as the number two seed. However, that did not stop them from upsetting the Yeshiva of Flatbush and taking back the Southern Division crown.    However, they could not keep up with the Kushner girls team in the Championship round. We look forward to building on the most successful two year run in YCQ Torah Bowl History.

Until next year!
