Fourth Grade Trip to see Freedom Train

On Thursday, March 7, the fourth grade went to Colden Center Auditorium at Queens College to see the performance "Freedom Train". Freedom Train tells the thrilling story of Harriet Tubman in a fascinating series of highly theatrical scenes that use dance, dialogue, and music of the period. The students learned that Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery at the age of 25. The escape route that Harriet followed soon became known as the Underground Railroad, and she quickly became one of its most celebrated conductors. The students were enthralled to see their social studies curriculum come to life!
